Fire department unable to save Labrador home

Natuashish, N.L. - Police are investigating a fire that destroyed a home in Labrador. RCMP in Natuashish say the home was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived Saturday.

The local fire department said the blaze was so extensive they were unable to save it.

A nearby house was also damaged by the heat.

Police say the owner tried to fight the fire that started in the basement, but couldn't extinguish it.

They say they're looking into whether young children playing in the basement had anything to do with the fire.
